NEET 2026 Exam Details
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the single entrance examination for admission into MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, BAMS, Veterinary, and other medical and paramedical courses in India.
The exam is conducted once every year in offline mode by the National Testing Agency (NTA). NEET UG is one of the largest entrance examinations in India, with more than 15 lakh students appearing every year. The examination is conducted in 13 languages across the country.
The duration of the NEET exam is 3 hours and 20 minutes.

NEET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Students who wish to apply for NEET UG 2026 are advised to check the eligibility criteria prescribed by NTA before applying.
Nationality
Candidates belonging to the following categories are eligible to apply for NEET 2026:
- Indian Nationals
- Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
- Overseas Citizens of India (OCI)
- Persons of Indian Origin (PIO)
- Foreign Nationals
Age Limit
- Candidates must complete 17 years of age on or before December 31, 2026.
- The upper age limit for NEET has been removed by NMC for all categories.
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have passed or appeared for Class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or institution.
- Students appearing for Class 12 examinations in 2026 are also eligible to apply.
- Candidates who completed Class 12 through open schooling are also eligible.
Mandatory Subjects
Candidates must have studied:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology/Biotechnology
- English
Candidates with Biology as an additional subject are also eligible.
Minimum Qualifying Marks
- General Category – 50%
- PWD Category – 45%
- SC/ST/OBC Categories – 40%
